The Junior Trainees' Group (JTG) of the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (BAOMS) is for junior trainees and by junior trainees. It acts to represent those with an interest in OMFS who are in the early stages of their careers. Typically this includes dentists and doctors contemplating embarking on a second degree in medicine or dentistry, those studying a second degree and those who are dual qualified but yet to enter specialist training in OMFS. We aim to promote the issues and interests of junior trainees at a national level, but also act as a point of contact and communication for trainees throughout the land.
Each year the JTG organises a conference specifically aimed at junior trainees. This gives trainees the opportunity to give oral and poster presentations, listen to speakers who are experts in their field but also to mingle with their peers. The number of junior trainees that attend grows each year reflecting the growing interest in our unique speciality at a junior level. We would encourage all junior trainees to attend if possible as it is an excellent opportunity to get to know people at the same level of training as you; people who you will be working with for many years to come! For more information please refer to the JTG Conference page on this website.
We hope you find this website useful, and remember it is designed with junior trainees in mind, so we would welcome people to make contributions to the site and to get involved with any discussions. If you feel we have missed anything out, or you just want more information on anything then please do get in touch.
